As soon as your student can recognize counting and writing by tens, they are ready for this game (first grade A Beka curriculum). This game uses money to introduce the idea of sets or multiplication. You may choose from two card options, one with labels (ie ‘one dime = 10 cents’) and one with coins only. Students should read the card (or say what it represents) as they play it.

This game is another way to disguise reading practice. If you limit the game time or number of rounds, your kids/ students will put a higher value to it, and ask to play.

This game is an entertaining way to practice reading sight words (most on the Dolch Basic Sight Vocabulary English word list). For this game a player plays a card that either matches the color of the card’s word or comes next in alphabetical order. Either way, the player reads the card as he plays it.

There are 26 word cards, one for each letter of the alphabet.
